Mullen High School is on the path to a complete upgrade of Sferra Hall and North Building A, with the latter being fully demolished and rebuilt. A new space will connect Sferra Hall and North Building A, which will house a new student activity center. To support the upgrades, electrical infrastructure and lighting fixtures will be updated with integrated controls, and a new electrical distribution system and branch power will be installed.
On level #1 of Sferra Hall, six new classrooms, a conference room, multiple upgraded office spaces, and circulation space with an open floorplan will be added. Level #2 of Sferra Hall will feature additional classrooms, student circulation space, and faculty offices.
Exceed has already completed the upgrade to the utility transformer infrastructure, and the existing Xcel utility transformer will be removed to make way for the new structure adjoining Sferra Hall and North building A. Due to increased power demands, a complete upgrade of the electrical distribution system is required for the finished project.
The design by Hord, Coplan, Macht Architecture is being paralleled with Exceed’s full BIM building Information Modeling, which includes all distribution, branch power, lighting fixtures, and fire alarm systems.
